Mamma Mia!

Sometimes we do stupid things that sound really good at the time. Here’s one of mine. I made a vow to myself, “No men for 1 year.” Who needs it right? One year to focus on healing my heart and soul. Then I go to Italy! What a recipe for disaster.

Since it is true women are from Venus, I knew that once I let a man into my life, the emotions would return and distract. I tried... Hello, have you seen these guys? I would have to be made of stone to not want some of that.

OK, so I lasted 8 months, but 7 of those were in the states, LOL. Here’s how it happened, aka the breaking of the vow. There are dating apps for the phone that are soooo much fun. You get to see a pic or 2, and maybe a one line quote. If you like the face, and they like yours, it’s a match and the app opens the ability to chat. Tinder and OK Cupid, they’re free and location based. Let’s get real, who cares if they are sensitive and like dogs, you gotta have the initial physical attraction and it’s all in the face.

So I chat, so I flirt, so I plan dates. This aspect puts an entirely new spin on my journey is a fantastic way. I shop for new clothes and lipstick, I smile more. I start to enter those intimate apparel stores, oh my.

Some were typical jerks sending way to racy chats for my lady taste; some even sent pictures of body parts! Those were instantly blocked. However… the others, I got to choose.  I say when and where, I had the Power and it felt really good. The last thing I need is a boyfriend, but my priority is fun and learning the culture, and now, that includes dates. Plus… they know I am leaving soon, so no pressure. It will be all about the fun.

Since then, I have had the pleasure of hanging out with a tennis coach, a musician, a photographer, a businessman and an investment banker. I’ve been a little busy. OHHH the accents! Talk about pushing the comfort zone, especially with the not so great English speakers. I highly recommend to you single ladies to date someone outside your culture, you will not regret it.

My Italian education has expanded to new levels, much needed at this point. I even bought a ‘University Roma’ souvenir T-Shirt, well deserved and I wear it proudly. My take on them…It IS absolutely true what they say; handsome, charming, well versed in all things pleasurable. Mama Mia!

Gram - good for you! You saw the you tube video. Quite the computer genius you have become. Great song, right?? I find myself singing while think of Deb galavanting and traipsing down the cobblestone streets in her new red Italian leather shoes and skinny girl jeans. She probably skips down the streets cuz she is so happy!!

Hi Cor, so funny, and I don't exactly skip even though I want to, I just walk with attitude & music in my ears.
